50 Cards: Half Way There!
wow.
okay, I’m 1/2 way through this creative journey.
you can see each of the 50 cards posts to download the individual cards.
what have I learned from this process?
more than I thought I would, definitely…
I like to work with shades of blue
I lean towards watery designs [watercolor was my first love in college]
I like to mix TWO fonts together best
I lean towards more vintage designs
I prefer happy thoughts
I’m enjoying the creative exploration
I’m planning a new ’50’ series to start after this one
Have you learned anything from my journey?!
I hope I’ve inspired you to get creative and scrapbook! I’ll see you DesignerDigitals!

I have learned that I can move past my block with scrapping my Mom’s photos and life, thanks to your beautiful cards that you’ve generously shared. Each card reminds me of the stories I want to tell about Mom, who died 2.5yrs ago. Stories I want to share with my nephews and their children. But most importantly, stories I want to relive with my Dad, who is currently recovering from 2 back to back heart attacks this week….
I’ve always loved your work and am happy to see you exploring and creating these gorgeous cards. 🙂
Thank you for freeing my block and for the inspiration you provide the world!

Thanks so much for such thoughtful words Kim. I’m so sorry for the loss of your mom and to hear of your dad’s heart attacks. I know how difficult that can be. I hope you are able to move past your block. 🙂

Thanks for the cards, Katie. I am enjoying them and look forward to each new one.
What I have learned thought my scrapping journey: Be myself and have that be enough! I admire many of the art journaling and more involved layouts but my primary goal is to capture the story in words supported by photos. I prefer digital supplies that don’t try to “steal the show”. From time to time, I do like to experience and “push the envelope”, so to speak, but that’s not my everyday go-to method of completing layouts.
I must always remind myself that it’s better to be an original than a copy. And not to stress out or expect perfection. Good enough gets the job done and albums completed.

Oh Patsy, I’m so glad you’re enjoying the cards! And such true words! Good enough does work. We are not out to win any awards, we are here to document our lives and memories to share with those that follow. However dramatic or simply that’s done it’s all good. 🙂

I’m loving these cards, Katie. I’ve been using them in layouts, blended and artsy. Love doing that. Since I can’t even draw stick people, I love looking at drawings and paintings that others can do. Water colors are my favorite, too, and any shade of blue makes me feel quiet and peaceful. Thanks for sharing these with us! 🙂
Katie Pertiet
Thanks Julie! So glad you’re enjoying the cards–blue’s good. yes, peaceful is good.

These cards have been an inspiration. I share you love of watercolor! And I agree with flowersgal about digital supplies that try to “steal the show”. These definitely are subtle enough to play a beautiful supporting role, yet have a beauty of their own. Thank you so much.
Katie Pertiet
Subtle is good! Love it more and more! And hooray for a love a watercolor! 😉

These cards are such a lovely mix, I eagerly look forward to each new daily treat. I don’t know what I will do with them yet, but I’m thinking, like others, that they would make a perfect little book. Perhaps paired with a photo and some journaling about how the saying resonates with some story or other part of my life.
Katie Pertiet
Thanks Stacia! Sounds like some great ideas for how to use these cards! thanks for following along!
Robin
I think these cards are lovely. I am going to make them into postcards and send them to my daughter and some of her friends who are away at college.
