50 Page Scrapbook Milestone

Documenting a Scrapbooking Milestone: 50 pages scrapped so far this year!

It’s no secret that I love scrapbooking. It’s how I fell into designing product for the scrapbook and paper crafts industry. I started scrapbooking back in high school and it evolved immensely when my daughter was born in 1995. That was at a time when scrapbooking was gaining in popularity and Creative Memories was introduced to me. That started it all. Stores started popping up everywhere and I was hooked.

Flash forward 25+ years and I’m still hooked. I may not be scrapbooking our trips to the petting zoos and play dates like the early years but I’m still trying to preserve memories, tell stories, document our heritage and embrace the creative outlet that scrapbooking provides.

I’m not a chronological scrapper. That’s got its good and bad points. The bad being that I’m a bit all over the place but that’s just how my creativity flows and it works for me 😉 So, in an effort to not leave any page behind, I started having all the pages created each year made into their own books. If they are part of a story I hope to have in a separate book I still included them just in case the album intended doesn’t get finished. I know far too well that every day is a gift and tomorrow is not promised to anyone [you can read more about that here and here] so it’s important all these pages don’t end up in a digital black hole. You can see a flip through of the books I’ve recorded so far here.

I scrap a bit of everything. Family, friends,  and sometimes just images that I love. I love going through my files upon files of photos and scans and remembering the full life we have led, choosing photos form here and there to document. Sometimes I remember all the details, and sometimes not. Wishing I had had more of a system for keeping notes but the earlier years when we were busy raising my daughter and running the business it was all I could do to keep up with life and some things just didn’t happen, and that’s okay. It’s not something I am going to beat myself up about. I’m moving forward and documenting what I can to preserve the mem0ries we made.

So, as we go into the second half of the year, I’m averaging about 2 pages a week right now, will see how it wraps up. I have a lot on my plate right now. Hoping to get back to zoom chats and YouTube Tutorials in September. I have lots of plans for new products in the SHOP and in the paper world, I’ve got some pretty awesome collections coming out with 49 and Market and Simple Stories to help keep everyone scrapping, documenting and making sure all the photos we can so easily take these days don’t end up in a black hole somewhere!
